AgroParisTech (APT)

The National Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (AgroParisTech) is a renowned French higher education institution in the field of life sciences and a component institution of Université Paris-Saclay. It addresses the global challenges of the 21st century: fostering knowledge and understanding to enable humanity to better safeguard our ecosystems, feeding populations while preserving natural resources, and sustainably managing the environment. Its areas of expertise include agricultural sciences, forestry, food technologies, biotechnologies, the environment, nutrition, health, land and natural resource management, and public policy. AgroParisTech ranks at the top of the French rankings in its academic subjects and, as part of Université Paris-Saclay, ranks 12th in the 2024 “Academic Ranking of World Universities” (ARWU).

URD ABI (Florent Allais), is a transdisciplinary unit dedicated to biomass and by-products valorization through integrated approaches combining biotechnologies, green chemistry and downstream processing. It aims at designing and optimizing value chains that go from the plant residual waste to high value-added end products such as fine chemicals (e.g., solvents, platform molecules), functional additives (e.g., antioxidants, anti-UV, antimicrobial).
